The 'new' Village Hall is a facility of which the village can be justly proud. Opened in 1987, after a protracted period of active fund-raising and intense negotiations, it has received wide acclaim for its design and facilities.
It is a charity run by an elected Management Committee, and is available for group, society, club and personal bookings throughout the year.
The Village Hall consists of 3 rooms available for hire; the Main Hall, the Swallow Room and the Elkins Room.
The Hall has a large car park suitable for around 50 cars.
There is disability access throughout.
Main Hall


Large main hall with stage and adjacent modern fully equipped kitchen.
Licensed Bar Facility £15 (£17.50 from January 1st 2026).
Size: 16.8 x 8 metres (stage 8 x 5 metres).
Main Hall is licensed to seat 160 for a play or seminar. It is suitable for 125 standing.
The Swallow Room

The Swallow Room is an excellent meeting space suitable for up to 20 people.
The Swallow Room has its own small kitchen space and toilets.
Size: 7.69m long X 5.16m wide.
The Elkins Room


The Elkins Room is an excellent meeting space suitable for up to 15 people.
Size: 5.50m X 5.55m
KBS Village Hall Hire charges (amended March 2024)

The above rates came into effect on 1st April 2024
Special events can be arranged & prices agreed via the Booking Secretary with the authority of the managing trustees.
The managing trustees reserve the right to allocate any booking to the most appropriate category, at its discretion.
These rates quoted are per hour.
The minimum hire charge for anyone booking is for one hour and charged in quarter hour units thereafter. The booked time should include any setting up at the start and tidying up at the end of the session, noting that a previous booking by another user may run up to the start time of your booking, and another booked user may follow immediately after your booking.
Private Users and Commercial Hirers will be expected to pay a refundable deposit of £150 for any hire (subject to the discretion of the trustees) on a hire by hire basis.
For children’s parties (under 10s) this deposit is £50
